My Dear Russian Friends,
We have been working together for more than a decade, and I expect that we will continue into the next century. But today, I am writing to let you know that we are with you as you go through a very difficulty economic period. I know that this is affecting you and your families and the students in your schools.
The Global Thinking Project brouhgt us together to deal with important global problems....of course we have engaged our teachers and students in the study of important environmental problems. But today we need to help them and each other with the economic issues that face Russia and other countries, including the United States.
I want you to know that I have contacted each of the Georgia schools that has been involved in the exchange, and will be working with them and you over the next year. This is the time that we must continue our work and show the students that we work with that this project is real, and is not dependent always on funding. We can use the resources that we have established over the years, especially e-mail and the GTP website to work together.
Please know that I am not only thinking about
you, but looking for ways to bring us together.
Sincerely, Jack Hassard
